Menorah Women’s Foundation of the Jewish Community Foundation (MWF) announces a new project which provides hearing tests and hearing aids at no cost to qualifying participants.  The Hearing Aid Recycling Program (HARP) arranges the collection of used hearing aids which are refurbished and refitted by KU Medical Center Audiology clinic.

The community is encouraged to drop off used hearing aids at the following locations:

Congregation BIAV
Congregation Beth Shalom
Congregation Beth Torah
Congregation Kol Ami
Congregation Ohev Sholom
Heritage Center at the Jewish Community Campus
Kehilath Israel Synagogue
New Reform Temple
The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah
Village Shalom

Qualified recipients are Jewish senior citizens with hearing difficulties who are identified by the Jewish Senior Network (JSN).  The JSN contact person is Christine Jamerson, 913-327-8105.

The Menorah Women’s Foundation began in 2005 with the remaining funds of the Menorah Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.  During the past three years, the Foundation has granted more than $100,000 to a variety of community projects that support our community’s Jewish elderly and youth.

For more information, to make a contribution, or to receive or donate hearing aids, contact Beatrice Fine at 913- 327-8245.
