Scholarships

Jay Grant loved the water and was an advocate for special needs children. The Jay Grant Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to help underwrite swimming lessons for children with special needs or circumstances who would benefit from personalized swimming instruction. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Fatal drowning remains the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 0-5 and the second leading cause for kids 0-14, according to the Center for Disease Control. Many families cannot afford the cost of swim lessons, especially those with special needs children who have a myriad of other financial expenses as well. Scholarships dollars can be utilized at any non profit agency in the metro area. Scholarship recipients are known as “Jay’s Swim Kids.”
